This Week’s CD Sales Worst Since 1991

1991 was the year Nielsen Soundscan began tracking album sales. And, apparently, those numbers hadn’t been that low in nearly 20 years. That was, of course, until this past week, when just about 5.3 million records were sold.

The Billboard Top 10 for the last week with copies sold rounded off:

1. Justin Bieber – My World 2.0 – 60,000
2. Lady Antebellum – Need You Now – 54,000
3. The National – High Violet – 51,000
4. AC/DC – Iron Man 2 – 48,000
5. The Dead Weather – Sea of Cowards – 45,000
6. Carole King and James Taylor – Live at the Troubadour – 44,000
7. Usher – Raymond v. Raymond – 43,000
8. Charice – Charice – 43,000
9. Godsmack – The Oracle – 43,000
10. As I Lay Dying – Powerless Rise – 38,000

Cell Phones Could be Killing the Bees

Researchers say that cell phones could be behind the bees dying off everywhere. Calls to Mark Wahlberg’s cell phone requesting comment have not been returned.

The reason behind a massive die-off of honey bees over the last several years has largely eluded scientists, but researchers at Punjab University now say radiation from cell phones is probably responsible for the decline. The technology is interfering with bee navigational senses and tampering with inner-hive life.

‘Biggest house in America’ up for sale

A house modelled on the Palace of Versailles that will eventually become the biggest in America, has been put up for sale – at a bargain price of £50m. The 30 bedroom mansion boasts its own bowling alley, roller skating rink and Olympic sized swimming pool to make it the largest family home ever built in the US. Time share mogul David Siegel and his former beauty queen wife Jacqueline began building the huge estate three years ago.
