A child’s hobby? Average gamer is 37 years old

Though playing video games is often called a child’s activity, a new study from the Entertainment Software Association has found that that perception couldn’t be further from the truth.

According to the organization, which represents the game industry, the average gamer today is 37 years old. Moreover, the average game buyer is 41 years old. Because of that, a greater number of parents are playing games with their children. The ESA said that 45 percent of parents play games with their kids “at least weekly.”

Scientists have got to the root of grey hair – paving the way for locks that retain the lustre of their youth well into old age. In a series of experiments, they have identified a protein called ‘wnt’ found to be vital to the production of colour in hairs.

The breakthrough raises the prospects of drugs, lotions or shampoos that raise levels of wnt – and restore white or grey hair to its natural colour.

Apple Now Worth As Much As Microsoft, HP And Dell … Combined

If you look at how Apple fares on the public markets today, compared to other tech powerhouses, you’ll notice that the Cupertino computer giant is currently valued at roughly $301 billion, which is close to the sum of the market cap of three of its closest rivals: Microsoft (~$200.3 billion), Hewlett-Packard (~$72.8 billion) and Dell (~$29.3 billion).

Market cap is of course just one metric – and arguably not even the best one – to make comparisons between companies. It is, nevertheless, a most excellent trend barometer and a simple way to compare valuations.
