The iconic phone from Apple seems to be everywhere these days, but what most people don’t realize is that the company had the idea for a multi-use, touch-screen phone long before the original iPhone ever hit shelves. The year was 1983, and a creative Apple designer named Hartmut Esslinger decided to smoosh together a phone and a touch screen to invent the forefather of the iphone.

If a MacBook Air Was as Inefficient as a Computer from 1991 the Battery Would Last 2.5 Seconds
Imagine you’ve got a shiny computer that is identical to a Macbook Air, except that it has the energy efficiency of a machine from 20 years ago. That computer would use so much power that you’d get a mere 2.5 seconds of battery life out of the Air’s 50 watt-hour battery instead of the seven hours that the Air actually gets. That is to say, you’d need 10,000 Air batteries to run our hypothetical machine for seven hours. There’s no way you’d fit a beast like that into a slim mailing envelope.

Creepy Steve Jobs Doll Nixed by Apple Lawyers
You just knew a boatload of bootleg Steve Jobs merch would start flooding in after his passing last year. Like street vendors outside of the World Series, online retailers started producing T-shirts, books and other various and sundry items. But after a Chinese manufacturer unveiled a miniature Steve Jobs prototype doll, Apple’s legal team pounced.
Apple’s lawyers sent a letter to the Chinese company stipulating that “any toy that resembles the technology company’s logo, person’s name, appearance or likeness of its products is a criminal offense,” according to a report from The Daily Telegraph.
In California, personality rights (California Civil Code Section 3344), which address the use of a person’s name, likeness, voice, or signature without their prior consent, last through the entirety of a person’s life, and for 70 years after their death.
Skype Vs. Magic Jack – Review – Save money on your phone service.
The Money Runner has a good break down of the advantages of using Skype VS Magic Jack. They also provide some pretty convincing reasons why you should finally dump your home phone.
Skype offers features such as video calling and chat. This is something that I find extremely useful. Video chat is especially great if you have little ones and have friends and family that are long distance. The Skype to go feature is also something magic jack doesn’t offer. What this allows you to do is create local numbers for any phone number around the world so you can call locally from any phone. So essentially free long distance calling on your cell phone. Skype has also integrated calling within Facebook. If that isn’t good enough you can also use the Skype app available for Android or you your IOS device to call out to landlines as well. I pay a whopping $2.99 per month for this service.
Pepsi: Mountain Dew Can Dissolve A Mouse
Back in 2009, a man sued PepsiCo, saying he found a dead mouse in a can of Mountain Dew. Pepsi wanted to prove its innocence by suggesting its high-caffeine drink is so extreme that it would have dissolved the mouse carcass, rendering it a “jelly-like substance.”
According to a story from the Madison Record that people are only really reading now, Pepsi submitted testimony from a scientist who gave that grotesque description in an effort to seek summary judgment.
Not long afterward, Pepsi asked for a change of attorneys in the case.
