Intel has launched a new app today called the Intel Boxed CPU Decoder. The app is extremely easy to use, simply select type of processor or socket, select the processors you want to compare and there you have it! It is actually harder to find and download the app than it is to use it (you actually have to search “Intel decoder” on iTunes). No word yet on a version for Android phone users.

A flood of toxic sludge – Big Picture
The 12-foot-high flood of sludge inundated several towns, sweeping cars off the road as it flowed into the nearby Marcal River. Emergency workers rushed to pour 1,000 tons of plaster into the Marcal River in an attempt to bind the sludge and keep it from flowing on to the Danube some 45 miles away. The red sludge in the reservoir is a byproduct of refining bauxite into alumina, which took place at an alumina plant run by the Hungarian Alumina Production and Trading Company.

Twenty percent of kids believe Toy Story’s Buzz Lightyear was the first person to set foot on the moon rather than Neil Armstrong while others thought it was Tour de France winner Lance Armstrong.
Verizon Refund $90M in Bogus Cell Data Charges
Ninety million dollars sounds like a huge refund…until you divide it by fifteen million customers.
This may well be the largest consumer telecommunications refund in history. Verizon Wireless said Sunday it will pay up to $90 million in refunds to some 15 million subscribers who were charged for data usage or Internet access, though they weren’t on data usage plans.

A story of my first experience with mail fraud. The remote-controlled ghost that I ordered from an ad in my Richie Rich comic book. It was 7 feet tall and could be controlled up to 50 feet to scare my friends. I waited all summer for the package, and was almost more impressed than disappointed.
