^^ yep, I’m with you. Not touching the shoulder is not a sign of respect. It happens because guys dont wanna offend the lady by touching her for some reason which seems backwards but I think the logic is something like “pretty lady. . . shouldnt touch her unless she asks. . . I dont want her to think I’m comming on to her even though I totally would” its more of an insecurity thing.

If the guy in the picture was tall, chiseled, and muscular there might be a different explanation am i right? what can you say about that?
Maybe its perception, and how one feels about the person acting out the problem. In other words “He must be insecure because he is over weight and nerdy looking.”
I’m sure if it was a tall, chiseled, muscular guy the hand wouldn’t even be noticed.
