Brett Favre’s start streak stops at 297
|An historic era in NFL annals ended on Monday as Brett Favre was left out of the starting lineup for the first time since 1992.
Favre, dealing with effects of a shoulder strain suffered on Dec. 5, saw his NFL-record streak of 297 straight regular-season starts end in the Minnesota Vikings’ game against the New York Giants in Detroit.
The Vikings put Favre on the inactive list for Monday’s game. Tarvaris Jackson, who led the Vikings to a 38-14 win in Week 13 after Favre was injured on the opening drive, replaced Favre as the team’s starter.
