Sales of Salvia soar in wake of Miley Cyrus bong video

According to people who deal, legally, in salvia divinorum … sales have increased since Friday — in some cases up to 3 times the usual tally.

TMZ spoke with several head shops in the Los Angeles area and we’re told — not only have sales jumped — but many of the customers specifically asked for “the stuff Miley was smoking.” No … mentioning Miley did not get them a discount.

While Miley’s experimentation is generating curiosity in the hallucinogen — one smoke shop employee tells us, “Salvia is one of those things that you only try once because it is so intense.”

Tech Support Care Package – For your parents

Every December, millions of tech-savvy young people descend on their homes only to arrive to a long list of tech support issues that their parents need help with. A few of us at Google thought there had to be a better way that would save us all a few hours each December…

The result of our brainstorm was TeachParentsTech.org, a site that allows you to select any number of simple tech support videos to send to mom, dad or uncle Vinnie. The site is not perfect and hardly covers all the tech support questions you may be asked, but hopefully it’s a start!

Cash Cab Confidential: A Former Contestant Tells All

I’d like to preface this by saying I planned on taking this tale to my grave, or at least not telling it until Cash Cab went off the air. I don’t want to be the guy who ruins the fun, you know? But a number of stories have popped up on the internet in the past few days, saying things along the lines of “Cash Cab is fake!” I was on the show, and I’d like to set the record straight. It’s not fake. It’s just kind of fake.

The methods Discovery uses to screen contestants and get them in the right cab are deliberately misleading, but only to better the show. And it’s not like the actual game is fixed. The night I played, I signed some papers that said I’d get my winnings revoked if I squealed. But that’s of no concern to me, because I lost on the final question and got no money. Spoiler alert.

The caps-lock key: WOULD YOU MISS IT?

WELL, WOULD YOU?

We expect this will improve the quality of comments across the Web,” joked Chrome project head Sundar Pichai during Tuesday’s unveiling, provoking some gasps, a few titters, and even a cheer or two. (Oh, and the function keys are getting thrown out with the bathwater, too.)
