Police in Barrie, Ontario say that the 49-year-old woman threw hot coffee at her boyfriend’s face before slapping him, upon the discovery that he had been trying to cheat on her with a woman he thought he met on the internet.

An off-duty cop who was in the vicinity arrested the woman and called for assistance. The woman is currently awaiting a bail hearing.

Both parties refuse to speak to the press, but it’s clear that an odd lie between the couple lead to the altercation. Both of them had lied about their identities.

In 1989, NBC aired the pilot episode of ‘Baywatch,’ a new series chronicling the dangerous adventures of a group of hard-bodied California lifeguards. Next month marks the tenth anniversary since the end of the series, though it lives on in syndication repeats all over the world.

During the show’s 12-year syndication run, ‘Baywatch’ perfected what will ultimately be its legacy: the number one beach-related television innovation of all time — slow-mo running. Preferably by hot chicks, but sometimes by that prime archetype of manliness himself, David Hasselhoff.
