Why I Paid $5,400/hour to drive a Ferrari and Lamborghini

Back in December I was in Las Vegas and I enjoyed the experience of driving a Ferrari 430 Scuderia and a Lamborghini Gallardo LP-560 on the infield road course at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. I took the Ferrari for 10 laps, and the Lambo for 5 laps. (BTW, the Scuderia made that Lamborghini feel like driving a truck in comparison)

Some people thought I lost my mind paying so much money for such an experience. Mind you, I didn’t drive for a full hour but maybe only 10 minutes. So my total cost was about $900, but it works out to about $5,400 per hour.

Letter mailed in 1944 finally arrives at its destination

A California man who received a letter from Alabama postmarked Aug. 9, 1944, said he is hoping to track down the rightful owner.

Gary McMaster, volunteer curator for the Camp Roberts Historical Museum, said a letter arrived in the mail last week with the 1944 postmark and addressed to “Miss R.T. Fletcher, American Red Cross Station Hospital, Camp Roberts, California,” the Montgomery (Ala.) Advertiser reported Thursday.

McMaster said the postmark listed Montgomery as the letter’s place of origin, but the corner with the return address had been torn from the envelope.

Major Mazda recall issued over spider infestation

Under the heading of strangest recalls ever, Mazda today is weaving the most bizarre of all: 52,000 Mazda6 in the U.S. are being recalled because of possible spider webs. The fear is that they can lead to blockages that will eventually cause fuel tanks to leak.
