The Kinect Is Not Racist

Consumer Reports have put those rumors that Kinect can’t see darker skin tones to rest. Facial recognition, for all skin tones, is affected by low light conditions but it does not impact game play at all. The testers even played in a room with the lights completely off with no issues. Those rumors that the Microsoft Kinect has trouble with certain skin tones? No way, says Consumer Reports. Just stop playing in that dark basement rec room, and all will be well.

Geek Optimism – The Glass is always Full

Consider that technically, the glass is completely full – half of air and half of water. Just as you can perceive a glass of water in different ways, I think we need to take a moment and look at our lives from a different perspective – a more optimistic one.
