Chicago is home to the fifth largest infestation of bedbugs (Cimex lectularius Linnaeus). The only cities with more are New York (#1); Philadelphia (#2); Detroit (#3) and Cincinnati (#4). Hair-Washing Robot Leaves Your Locks Silky-Smooth
Leave it to the Japanese to invent a hair washing robot. I think I’ll hold out for several towel wrapped attendants in a Japanese Sento myself. The Panasonic robot has practical applications for senior citizens and bedridden patients.
According to a Panasonic release, a moving arm in the machine first scans your head in 3D to determine its shape and the optimal amount of force to use while shampooing. Next, the robot’s 16 fingers gently massage your scalp while a three-motor arm moves back and forth and force sensors ensure a delicate touch.

The multi-millionaire owner of the Segway company died in a freak accident yesterday when he rode one of the high-tech two-wheel machines off a cliff and into a river. Former miner Jimi Heselden, 62, plunged into the River Wharfe while riding around his West Yorkshire estate in Boston Spa on a rugged country version of the Segway.
