Chicago is home to the fifth largest infestation of bedbugs (Cimex lectularius Linnaeus). The only cities with more are New York (#1); Philadelphia (#2); Detroit (#3) and Cincinnati (#4). Although the bugs are more of a nuisance than a health hazard, they continue to rise in number and have been blamed for the spread of up to 40 different human diseases.

According to a Panasonic release, a moving arm in the machine first scans your head in 3D to determine its shape and the optimal amount of force to use while shampooing. Next, the robot’s 16 fingers gently massage your scalp while a three-motor arm moves back and forth and force sensors ensure a delicate touch.

“In the wake of Elmo’s terrible betrayal, the Simpsons puppets wish to announce they stand felt-shoulder-to-shoulder with Katy Perry,” executive producer Al Jean is quoted as saying.The episode, titled “The Fight Before Christmas,” will air December 5th on Fox.

The multi-millionaire owner of the Segway company died in a freak accident yesterday when he rode one of the high-tech two-wheel machines off a cliff and into a river. Former miner Jimi Heselden, 62, plunged into the River Wharfe while riding around his West Yorkshire estate in Boston Spa on a rugged country version of the Segway.
